About the wine
The Hess Collection Winery was founded in 1978 by Swiss Donald Hess and is now one of the leading wineries in California. In 2012, the new generation took over the fate of the winery under the management of Donald's daughter Ursula and her husband Timothy Persson. Dave Guffy is also part of this team. Dave has been Chief Winemaker at Hess Collection Winery since 1999. The wines from Mount Veeder receive top awards from Parker and Wine Spectator with astonishing regularity.

Tasting note
Dark cherry red with purple reflections. The aroma is black berries (cherries), fresh mint, leather, cedars, licorice and mocha as well as the unobtrusive barrique flavor.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with a variety of meat dishes (including game and poultry) and spicy cheese.
