Tasting note
Bright ruby red with garnet tones. As contact with air increases, the rich bouquet gains additional depth. The focus is on notes of dark berries, fine spicy and subtle liquorice notes. Powerful and rich on the palate, the fruit is complemented by a mineral component. A complex wine, tart but without severity, on well-integrated tannin.
Culinary recommendation
Flaschenpöstler-Tipp: Brunello di Montalcino DOCG passt bestens zu Pasta, Pizza und Rindfleisch.
Vinification
Vinification: Fermentation in steel tanks and in open wooden barrels. 40 days maceration on mash. Ageing: 36 months in French oak barrels, tonneaus of 500 l. 1/3 of which are new and 2/3 are used.
