About the wine
An estate of 10 hectares, half planted with vines and half with olive trees. It is just 500 metres from the Abbey of Sant' Antimo and offers wonderful views over the Orcio Valley. The area benefits from a special microclimate, and it is warmer and drier here than anywhere else in the Chianti region. Nowhere else do Sangiovese grapes reach greater maturity and concentration. With the help of the latest technology, the estate produces impressive Brunelli from it. Since 2005, Belpoggio has been owned by Bellussi, which is known for its high-quality prosecchi.
Tasting note
Spicy berry scent, strong, juicy, intense and long on the palate.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with hearty meat dishes such as Bistecca Fiorentina, game, aged cheese.
Vinification
Temperature-controlled fermentation, aged 24 to 36 months in barrels of 30 and 40 hl content.
