Tasting note
Jack Daniel's “Bonded” Tennessee Whiskey is a “bottled-in-bond” whiskey that is aged in selected barrels, giving it extra depth and character. With an alcohol content of 50%, it provides complex notes of caramel, rich oak wood and spices, which lead to an agreeably long-lasting finish.
Vinification
BONDED Bottled-in-bond is the label for a distilled beverage made in the USA that has been aged and bottled in accordance with a series of legal requirements included in the US government's “Standards of Identity for Distilled Spirits,” as originally set out in the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897. In response to the widespread falsification of American whiskey, the law made the federal government the guarantor of the authenticity of a spirit drink. To be described as “bottled-in-bond” or “bonded,” the SPI ritual must be the product of a distillation season (January-June or July-December) by a distiller in a distillery. The spirit must have been aged for at least four years in a warehouse under the supervision of the US government and bottled with an alcohol content of 50%. The label of the bottled product must indicate the distillery where it was distilled and, if different, the location where it was bottled. Only spirits produced in the United States may be described as “bonded.”
