About the wine
The Ca' Marcanda winery in Maremma impresses with its magnificent architecture, which is perfectly combined with the Tuscan landscape. The area offers an excellent climate for growing international grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Syrah. Since 1996, Angelo Gaja has planted over 60 hectares of vineyards. Despite choosing grape varieties grown all over the world, Gaja certainly does not want to produce wines that adapt to international tastes, but rather wines that reflect the local terroir and express elegance, freshness and drinking pleasure!

Tasting note
A fantastic super Tuscan. Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and some Petit Verdot come together to create fruity-spicy fireworks, paired with elegance and sensuality. On the nose, pure and intense aromas of ripe blackberries, dark cherries, black currants and eucalyptus. Perfectly integrated wood on the palate, supple and fine in texture.
Culinary recommendation
Excellent with grilled meat, lamb, game dishes or aged cheese.
Vinification
The three types of grapes are fermented separately from each other. After mash fermentation, assembly takes place in spring. Magari is then aged for 12 months in new and slightly used barriques, followed by 6 months of bottle aging.
