About the wine

In the 1990s, two families teamed up here to break new ground together; today, just a generation later, the small winery, which is only 10 ha, is firmly established in the tip of Burgenland, if not Austria. Less is more, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, close to nature, spontaneous fermentation, low use of wood. The restraint pays off, the wines make their terroir look wonderful, these are refined, elegant and fresh wines with depth and spice that invites exploration. Since Christoph Wachter (2008) took over in the cellar, there has been another jolt through the winery, the awards and prizes are downright down to the winery: newcomer, trendsetter, winery of the year, all of which deserves very, very much and at very reasonable prices

Tasting note
Mystical journey - prelude, snorting in deep darkness, brown, stalky tones, then it's off to see the dark, musty forest, undergrowth, jungle pepper, then cool freshness in the morning, ethereal, plants, rocks, only then to see: lots of delicious blue, black and light red berries. On the palate, determined ambition, concise acidity, fresh dark berries and slate minerality, therefore also the calm, time-saving moments, the journey the destination, the soft side of the fruit nestles on the palate in between, and then continues to endlessly fresh and ethereally fresh. A roller-coaster of emotions (spicy from slate, soft from clay), which is remembered as a unique journey. Great PLV!
