Tasting note
Alessandro Bindocci, second-generation managing director of Tenuta Il Poggione, “also knows white wine.” He took over the sceptre from his father Fabrizio. There is not much to improve on Brunello in Il Poggione, as it has been one of Montalcino's best values for decades. What was missing from this historic winery, however, was a racy, smart white wine and Alessandro has now presented it. It is a perfectly balanced blend of Vermentino (60%) and Chardonnay (40%), fresh, crunchy and appetizing, a perfect white for summer.
