Tasting note
The Barolo from La Morra shines in a deep ruby red. On the nose, an aromatic potpourri of blood orange, ripe raspberries and plums, paired with spicy aromas of fennel, celery, tar and pipe tobacco. On the palate, the wine is dense and juicy, with lots of red fruit, enormous depth, silky tannins, refreshing acidity and a long-lasting salty-mineral finish. An extremely balanced, elegant and precise Barolo that is great drinking fun even at a young age, but also has great aging potential.
Culinary recommendation
For pot roast, lamb racks, game, Italian specialties, hard cheese
Vinification
The grapes for this Barolo come primarily from the Fossati and Bricco Rocca vineyards and are harvested by hand. After spontaneous fermentation, the wine ages for approx. 24 months in French barriques (second use). A maximum of 2000 bottles are produced annually.
