About the wine
Poderi e Cantina Oddero looks back on over 100 years of history and is one of the most renowned wineries in Piedmont. It has vines in the very best locations, such as Brunate in La Morra, Villero in Castiglione Falletto and the Barbaresco Gallina in Neive. But it's not just the vineyard wines that are great — the “normal” Barolo Classico also shows size and would be worthy of a Grand Cru according to the vinification of a Grand Cru: 60-year-old vines, hand-picked harvesting, separate vinification by location. It's no wonder that James Suckling is already showering praise on this basic Barolo.
Tasting note
The renowned family winery Oddero is located in the heart of the Nebbiolo paradise of Barolo, on the flanks of the impressive hills of the neighboring village of La Morra. The 6th and 7th generations led by the dedicated Mariacristina Oddero rely entirely on tradition combined with current and future-oriented sustainability. Barolo, composed harmoniously from excellent plots, stands out as a true classic in the range of this leading Piedmont Azienda. An excellent Nebbiolo, the perfect balance between power and finesse.
