About the wine
If we can offer something special for Christmas 2021, it will be this outstanding red wine 2018 — Barbera d'Asti DOCG Bassina. The winemaker from the Italian winery Marenco has absolutely mastered his craft. Style and finesse are the characteristics of this red wine, which originates in the fertile and flourishing landscape of Piedmont. Culinary tip from Flaschenpost team: This Barbera is excellent with antipasti or strong, dark meat.

Das florale Bouquet des Barbera d'Asti DOCG Bassina von Lavendel, Gewürzen und Vanille kokettiert geschickt mit Ihrem Geruchssinn. Anschliessend überzeugen fruchtige Nuancen von schwarzer Kirsche und Pflaume resolut und bewusst Ihre Geschmackssinne. Ein Rotwein mit kräftigem Körper und hervorstechender Säure, welcher seidig mit milden Tanninen auf Zunge und im Gaumen seine vielschichtige Struktur entfaltet.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with starters, pasta, risotti, pizza, meat dishes and mature cheeses.
Vinification
Ein paar Worte zur Vinifikation: Handlese der voll ausgereiften Trauben. Vinifikation im Chromstahltank. Ausbau in Zementtanks und anschliessend für mindestens 9 Monate in Eichenholzfässern.
