Tasting note
Balcón de Pilatos is one of Bodega Valdemar's most iconic vineyards and is an excellent location for the very characteristic Maturana grape. In the glass, a deep red color with cherry red tones and purple reflections. The distinctive and expressive profile of the Maturana grape is reflected in complex, intense aromas of ripe black fruits, accompanied by fine spicy and licorice notes. Soft and well-balanced on the palate, with a pleasantly firm grip, followed by licorice and harmoniously integrated toast notes. Elegant, structured and full-bodied, with a very long and pleasant finish.
Culinary recommendation
Red meat, stews, sausages, tuna, semi-smoked cheese and grilled mushrooms.
Vinification
11 months in American oak barrels.
