About the wine
The Klet Brda winery is located in Dobrovo and has always been part of Dobrovo Castle. However, it was only at the beginning of the 20th century that a targeted structure of the cellar with classification and modern production facilities was established. In 2018, Klet Brda renovated the wine cellar. The wines from Klet Brda are not only popular in Slovenia, but are appreciated in 28 countries around the world. The special thing about Klet Brda is that it is a cooperative consisting of 400 small winegrowing families.
Tasting note
Bright, rich ruby red. Diverse aroma spectrum. Ripe red berries, black currants, plum jam, cocoa, chocolate and mint are clearly visible. The taste is dominated by soft, pleasant notes of ripe berries and plums, followed by the characteristic taste of dark chocolate. Strong structure with pleasant freshness. Pleasantly long and warm finish and great aromatic persistence.
Culinary recommendation
This elegant Merlot can easily stand up to strong meat dishes.
Vinification
The wine was vinified in steel tanks and then aged in oak barrels for 12 months.
