About the wine
The fine white wine Catarina combines the best of the Portuguese grape varieties Fernão Pires and Arinto with the world-renowned Chardonnay. It develops its unique character in the north-facing vineyards on the calcareous clay soils of the picturesque slopes of Azeitão. Vinification
Fernão Pires and Arinto are fermented separately in stainless steel tanks. Some of the Chardonnay ferments in new French oak barrels where it ages for a further four months. During this time, Chardonnay undergoes regular batonage.
