About the wine
Bodega Amalaya is a winery in Cafayate and is owned by Bernese wine pioneer Donald Hess. The winery is known for excellent vineyards in the Calchaqui Valley, the highest wine-growing region in the world. The vineyards are located in an actual desert, which is why we have a fascinating interplay between hot days and cold nights. “Amalaya” means “hope of a miracle” in the language of the local Indians.

Its elegant ruby red crowns every festive occasion with style and magic. You won't find this shade in any color catalog. The refreshing scent spectrum of red plum, clove and prune shows a complex aroma structure and plenty of culinary potential. The dominant nuances of strawberry and pepper shape their individual texture. With subdued, finely developed tannins, medium-strong body and dominant acidity, this red wine shows its flawless structure.
